ADAPTIVE INTELLIGENCE

IMNRW-210922-542_edited.jpg

How employees can think more flexibly, integrate new things faster, and deal with uncertainty in a healthy way.

How can we react quickly to change? How can we act in uncertainty? Where do we find the strength to cope with a world facing multiple crises?

This presentation shows how it's done in an entertaining and practical way #weadapt

"The world is moving at 105,441 km/h. Keep Up!" wrote the BBC in 2012. In the new millennium, there are no more quiet zones. People in companies experience this daily. Change in the workplace will be constant. And those who have the ability to adapt will succeed.

Adaptability can be the X factor that leads us to professional success.

AQ? WHAT IS THAT?

Adaptive intelligence (AQ) is the ability to respond flexibly and healthily to change. People learn to integrate new things more quickly and remain capable of acting.
Our research shows that high AQ increases performance, innovation, and resilience. AQ encompasses several dimensions – from situational awareness to recognize early signals, to composure in crises , social flexibility in dealing with perspectives and diversity, to competence growth through continuous learning and adaptive performance in action.

Intelligence is the ability to adapt to change.

STAY STRONG - WHEN YOU

EVERYTHING CHANGES

Adaptability is the key skill for the future – not just a “nice to have”, but essential for survival.

My research shows that people with high adaptability are more open to change, perform better during the change process, and remain capable of acting even when routines fail. They can rethink things more quickly, integrate new ideas, and adapt their behavior flexibly. Companies benefit doubly: resistance to change decreases, and performance and well-being increase. Adaptability acts like a muscle – it can be trained through experience, practice, and reflection. Those who strengthen their adaptability secure the competence to act effectively and resiliently, even in uncertain times.

HOW DO I ACTIVATE ADAPTIVE INTELLIGENCE?

It's about the ability to create, adapt, and connect with others. I demonstrate, in a practical and engaging way, how this works with three core competencies: 1. situational awareness, 2. new mental models, and 3. genuine proactivity. Participants experience why change is often perceived as "sudden," how to build a radar for change using so-called fluid networks, and how trust acts as the superglue of collaboration.

Using humorous examples – from IKEA to police checks – I illustrate how successful organizations differentiate themselves from the competition through keen observation, a willingness to learn, and the courage to explore new paths. I also provide scientifically sound, immediately applicable tools like the RIC Check, which enables teams to assess and increase their readiness, importance, and confidence in change.

THE TAKEAWAYS

  • Develop situational awareness – perceive changes early, recognize signals and thus avoid crises.

  • Create new mental models – questioning old thought patterns, adopting innovative perspectives and enabling creative solutions.

  • Act proactively instead of reactively – don't sit out or suppress change, but shape it courageously and take responsibility.

  • Use trust as a superglue – create psychological safety, integrate diversity and strengthen teams across departmental and company boundaries.

  • Apply practical tools for everyday life – from the Q-test to the RIC check to questioning techniques that have an immediate impact on leadership and collaboration.
