I am a transformation psychologist and actively research curiosity , future courage , adaptability, momentum and human impact – those psychological traits, or future competencies, that make people and organizations future-proof and have a real impact in the workplace.
Scientific expertise & collaboration with leading institutes
For more than ten years I have been closely associated with the Future Institute in Frankfurt and Vienna. My academic career has taken me from the University of Cologne via the European Business School to the FOM University of Applied Sciences.

In interdisciplinary collaboration with international partners – including George Mason University (Virginia), the Northern Business School Hamburg , and the University of Basel – I investigate the central questions of our time: “How do we maintain confidence and courage for the future ?” “How do we strengthen our adaptive intelligence ?” “How does curiosity become a crisis buffer and source of meaning ?” “How do we increase our effectiveness?” and “Why do to-do lists no longer save us , but rather a smart mix of personal guiding principles, thinking in terms of impact, and momentum for movement in change ?”
Entertaining Research: bringing psychology to life
I am a trained actor and have been performing on stage and in front of the camera for over 25 years . This experience combines with my work as an industrial and organizational psychologist and educational scientist: research meets performance. With this blend, I invite people to explore the psychology of human behavior – scientifically sound , inspiringly presented , and immediately applicable .

What are future skills and what are future competencies?
Future skills are important – they describe what people should be able to do to thrive in a complex world. Future competencies go a step further and show how people can react flexibly to change. But true human future readiness only emerges when we strengthen the psychological qualities that enable us to embrace the new in the first place: curiosity, self-efficacy, tolerance for ambiguity, social competence, confidence, critical thinking, and adaptability. Research from personality and social psychology (including our own) shows that these internal resources determine whether acquired competencies truly become effective in uncertain times. Those who understand future readiness merely as skills training remain stuck in the logic of the past. Those who understand it as an attitude actively shape the future – and remain psychologically healthy in the process.
